Getting started with Biilda

On this page
Biilda is a desktop app that builds itself around how you work. You describe what you want in Chat, and Biilda builds it: an AI employee, a scheduled task, a connection to a service you use, even a brand-new tab. This page takes you from nothing to your first build.
Before you start
You need a Windows or Mac computer, a Biilda account, and a few credits. The app is free to download. You add credits in US dollars and only spend them as Biilda works. See Credits and pricing.
Your first 10 minutes
- Install the app. Open the download page. On Windows, click Download for Windows (it opens the Microsoft Store listing — click Install); on a Mac, download the installer and run it. Full steps are in Install Biilda.
- Accept the welcome screen. On first launch you see "Welcome to Biilda". Tick the checkbox to accept the Terms of Service and the self-coding and prompt-injection risk disclosure, then click Get started.
- Sign in or create an account. Use your email and password, or Continue with Google. See Sign in and your account.
- Answer "Tell us about your work". If you have not filled it in before, a short form asks about your role, team size, industry and what you would like to automate. It helps Biilda build the right thing.
- Add credits. Open the account menu at the bottom left and choose Top up credits.
- Open Chat and describe something. A new chat shows start cards so you do not face a blank box.
The start cards in Chat
An empty chat offers one card for each thing Biilda can build:
- AI employee: hire a worker with a role and duties.
- Scheduled task: something done for you on a schedule.
- Skill: a playbook your employees can use.
- Connector: connect an outside service you use.
- Department: a team of employees around one goal.
- Custom build: a brand-new tab built just for you.
- Brain: a knowledge vault about your business.
Clicking a card opens a short form and turns your answers into a well-formed request. The cards are a shortcut, not a requirement. You can always just type, for example: "hire a marketing employee, or ask why a task didn't run".
What happens next
Biilda does not build in silence. When your request would create or change something, it proposes a plan first, and nothing is built until you approve it. Read how in Chat and plans.
Anything new that can run on its own, like a task or an employee, starts disabled. You switch it on once it looks right.
Where things live
The sidebar groups the app into Workspace (Chat, Dashboard, Timeline, Brain, Departments, Employees, Tasks, Approvals, Messages) and Configuration (Connectors, Skills, Communicators, Folders, Templates, Backups, Logs, Settings).

FAQ
- Do I need to know how to code?
No. You describe what you want in plain language and Biilda builds it. You review a plan before anything is built.
- Is Biilda free?
The app is free to download. You pay only for what you use, from a balance of credits you top up in US dollars.
- What should I build first?
Something small and repeatable, such as a scheduled task that writes a daily summary. Small builds are quick to check and cheap to run.
