Approvals and permissions: you stay in control

Biilda does not flatly refuse work, and it does not act on sensitive things behind your back either. The first time something sensitive comes up, such as touching your files, reaching the internet or sending something outward, it asks you first.
Live prompts
When you are in the app, a prompt appears with a clear title. The ones you will see:
- Allow this file action?
- Allow internet access?
- Allow reading this Slack channel?
- Send this to the internet?
The choices are Deny, Allow once, and an "always" option such as Always allow… for files or Always allow this address for the internet. For files, Always allow… lets you pick how wide the permission is, from one operation in one folder up to everything in the folder. An "always" for the internet is remembered for that exact address only, never a whole site.
Outward actions that can change or post data are different: you are asked every time, and they are never remembered.
The Approvals tab
Open Approvals when an agent reaches a step that needs your sign-off while you are away, for example a scheduled task or an employee working in the background. The tab reads: "When an agent reaches a step that needs your sign-off — an outward action, or a first-time permission — it waits here."
- Open Approvals.
- Read what the request is and who it is from.
- Click Approve to let it run, Approve, don't ask again to remember your answer where that applies, or Reject.
- For permission requests, click the allow button (Allow here, Allow this address or Allow) or Dismiss.
Allowing a permission request is remembered, and the blocked task runs again by itself. Past choices are listed under Recent decisions.
If you connect Slack, approval requests can also arrive as cards with Approve and Deny buttons. See Connect Slack.
Employees ask before acting outward
New employees default to checking with you before sending, posting or spending. You can turn this off per employee under Approve outward actions. See Employees and departments.
Plans come first in Chat
In Chat, anything that builds or changes something waits for your plan approval. See Chat and plans.
Review or revoke anything you allowed
Open Settings and find Permissions. Every "always allow" you have given is listed there with a Revoke button. Revoking means you are simply asked again next time.
Folder access
Biilda only reads or writes inside folders you grant.
- Open Folders.
- Click Add folder and choose a folder with your computer's own folder picker. That dialog is your consent. Biilda cannot grant itself a folder.
- Use Enable and Disable to pause a grant, or the trash icon to remove it.
Anywhere outside a granted folder is out of reach. A file that is overwritten or deleted is saved first, and Recently changed files has a Restore button.

FAQ
- Will Biilda ever send something without asking?
Only if you turn off Approve outward actions for that employee.
- What does "Always allow" cover?
Only what the prompt says. File choices are limited to the scope you pick, and internet choices to that exact address.
- How do I undo an "always allow"?
Go to Settings, then Permissions, and click Revoke beside it.
