Skills: playbooks your AI employees use

A skill is a reusable ability your employees can use: how you write a newsletter, how you reply to a complaint, how you research a lead. Each skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file and any supporting files.

Create a skill

The easiest way is Chat.

  1. Open Chat and click the Skill card.
  2. Enter What is the skill called? and What should it cover?, for example your tone of voice and the sections every issue has.
  3. Review the plan and accept it. Chat writes a full folder you can edit later. See Chat and plans.

To make one by hand:

  1. Open Skills.
  2. Click New skill.
  3. Enter Name, Description (one line) and Instructions (what this skill does, how to use it).
  4. Click Create skill.

Import a skill

Already have a skill folder? In Skills, click Import skill and choose it.

Turn skills on and off

Each skill in the list shows an enabled or disabled badge. Open shows its details. Enable or Disable flips it. Skills installed from a template are marked "From template".

Give a skill to an employee

  1. Open Employees and pick the employee.
  2. In its skills section, attach a skill from the list. You can detach one at any time.
  3. A task assigned to that employee can then pick which of its skills to use.

The same skill can be attached to several employees. See Employees and departments.

Suggested improvements

After a task run, Biilda can review what happened and suggest improvements to the skills and employee instructions involved. This is set under Auto-learning in Settings, with options Off, a setting that reviews only blocked or failed runs, and one that reviews every scheduled run. Suggestions wait for your review. You can allow auto-apply per skill or employee, and every applied improvement is snapshot-protected so you can undo it from Backups.

Each review is a billed model call at the cheapest tier, capped at 20 per day.

FAQ

What is inside a skill?

A folder with a SKILL.md file, plus any supporting files such as reference documents.

Yes. Attach the same skill to as many employees as you like.

Will Biilda change my skills without asking?

Not unless you allow auto-apply for that skill. Otherwise suggestions wait for your review.
