Privacy and local data: what stays on your machine

Biilda is local-first. Everything you build and all your data stay on your computer. Only what an AI request needs leaves it.
What stays on your machine
- Your employees, tasks, skills and connector settings.
- Your chat history, logs and snapshots.
- Files in folders you granted, plus the safety copies Biilda keeps before overwriting or deleting.
- Connector sign-ins, stored in your operating system's secure storage.
Settings, under "This install", shows where your files and data live on disk.
What leaves it
When you ask Biilda to do something, the request and the context it needs go to Biilda's servers so the AI can answer, and your balance is tracked there. Billing and your account live in the cloud. Your Biilda account and any credit balance stay on our servers.
Anything Biilda reads from outside, such as emails, web pages, messages and files, is treated as data and never as instructions. New employees also ask before outward actions. See Approvals and permissions.
Access to your files
Biilda can only read or write inside folders you grant using your computer's own folder picker. It cannot grant itself access. See the Folders section in Approvals and permissions.
During the beta
Biilda is still in beta, and the app says so at first launch. During this period it sends us a record of your chat, employee and build activity, including successful runs, plus a report when something fails, so we can fix problems and understand real use. Secrets, tokens and file contents are always stripped on your computer first. Ordinary text in your prompts and replies is not. Records are deleted after 90 days, and you can ask us to delete them sooner by emailing support@biilda.com.
In Settings, the Send error reports and Share usage activity options are shown as required during the beta and become optional at launch. Share anonymous product analytics is separate and is off unless you turn it on.
Delete your local data
In Settings, the Delete personal data panel has Delete all my data…. It removes everything Biilda has created on your computer: employees, tasks, skills, connectors and their sign-ins, chat history, file backups, logs, snapshots and settings. Biilda then closes, and the next launch starts like a fresh install. Your account and credit balance stay safe on our servers.
