Tasks and schedules

A task is something Biilda does for you, on demand or on a schedule. Each task has its own instructions, its own schedule and its own quality tier.
Create a task
The fastest route is Chat: click the Scheduled task card, say what it should do, when it should run, and the effort level. You can also build one by hand.
- Open Tasks.
- Click New task.
- Fill in Name and What should happen? (instructions the employee follows).
- Choose Quality tier for this task: Economy (cheapest, simple work), Balanced (quality and cost) or Best (top quality, hard work).
- Optionally pick an Assigned employee. If it has skills, you can choose which ones the task uses.
- Set the Schedule:
- Manual: only when I run it.
- Repeating: every N minutes.
- Daily at a time.
- Weekly on a day.
- Click Create task.
Enable it when it looks right
You see the message "Task created — enable it when it looks right". New tasks start disabled, so nothing fires on a schedule until you click Enable on the task. The same button reads Disable to switch it off. A badge shows whether the task is enabled or disabled.
Run a task now
Every task has a Run now button. Use it to test a new task before you trust the schedule. Each run is listed on the task page, and the empty state reads: "No runs yet. Press "Run now" (or wait for the schedule) and every run will be listed here."
List and calendar
The Tasks tab has list and calendar views. The calendar shows your scheduled tasks. Timeline in the sidebar shows every employee run on one time axis: live, past and scheduled.
Tasks only run while Biilda is running
Schedules run inside the Biilda app on your computer. There is no separate background service. Closing the window keeps the app running in the tray. Quitting Biilda means nothing runs. To start Biilda automatically, tick Start Biilda when I log in in Settings.
If credits run out
A task paused by an empty balance does not fail. Scheduled runs resume by themselves after you top up. See Credits and pricing.
If a task needs permission
An unattended task that reaches something sensitive for the first time waits for you in Approvals instead of dead-ending. See Approvals and permissions.
