Chat: build by describing, approve the plan

On this page
Chat is the command center. Most of what you do in Biilda starts here: hire an employee, schedule a task, connect a service, or ask for a new tab.
Describe what you want
- Open Chat from the sidebar.
- Type a request in the message box, or click one of the start cards (AI employee, Scheduled task, Skill, Connector, Department, Custom build, Brain).
- Send it. Biilda works through the request and shows its steps while it runs.
Chat runs on the Balanced quality tier. You can also ask Chat questions about your own setup, such as why a task did not run, or ask it to open a tab.
Plans come first
Nothing gets built behind your back. When a request would create or change something, Biilda proposes a plan in the chat first. The plan bubble shows what will be built.
- Read the plan.
- To change it, just type what you want different. Biilda revises the plan.
- When it is right, click Accept & build (or Accept & update for changes to an existing build, Approve plan for Brain pages, or Approve & continue for other actions).
- Not ready? Click Not now.
Only your click approves a plan. Biilda cannot approve its own plan. Simple questions and read-only lookups do not need a plan. A trivial change gets a one-line plan.
Custom builds
A Custom build creates a brand-new tab just for you. It always goes through a plan you accept first, because a build is the most expensive single thing Biilda does. Builds are tracked: if one is stopped or does not finish, a Retry build button lets you pick it up again.
Stop, Resume and Retry
- Stop ends whatever is running, including a build or a plan draft.
- If a reply fails in a way that can be retried, it shows a Retry button.
- If your credits run out, the reply pauses and shows Resume. Click it after you top up. Finished work is not repeated. See Credits and pricing.
New things start disabled
Employees and tasks that Chat builds start disabled. They cannot run or act until you turn them on. Review them, then switch them on. See Employees and departments and Tasks and schedules.

FAQ
- Can Biilda build something without my approval?
Not in Chat. Anything that creates or changes something waits for your plan approval first.
- What if the plan is not what I meant?
Type what you want changed and Biilda revises the plan. Nothing is built until you accept.
- Can I stop a build that is running?
Yes. Use Stop. A stopped build can be picked up later with Retry build.
