AI PRD generator and weekly status report template

An AI PRD generator and status report template for Biilda: the Product Manager drafts a spec when you run Draft a spec, and writes a report every Friday.

Installed employees and tasks start switched off until you turn them on.

A spec on demand and a status report every Friday: this AI PRD generator template installs one employee, the Product Manager, to produce both. Specs are product requirements documents scoped from a new idea, and the report is built from the week's changes and notes in a folder you grant.

It is for founders and small teams who need written specs and updates but would rather not start from a blank page. Biilda is a free Windows and macOS desktop app in which you describe what you want in chat and it builds AI employees (its word for an AI agent with a job), skills and scheduled tasks.

What this template does

Product Manager keeps everyone honest about where things stand. Every Friday at 15:00 it reads through the week's changes and notes in a granted folder and writes a crisp status report — done, next, risks, asks — as a file you can forward or paste anywhere.

On demand, it drafts a full spec for a new idea: the problem, who it's for, what's in and out of scope, how success is measured, and the open questions still worth answering before work starts.

It reports and drafts only — it never marks work done or changes the backlog itself; that stays with the people actually doing the work.

How does an AI PRD writer and status report work?

The Draft a spec task takes a new idea and scopes it with the Product spec writing skill: the problem, who it is for, what is in and out of scope, how success is measured, and the open questions still worth answering before work starts. It is on demand, on the Best tier.

On Fridays at 15:00 the Weekly status report task reads through the week's changes and notes in your granted folder and writes the report with the Status reporting skill: done, next, risks, asks. It lands as a file you can forward or paste anywhere. A Task prioritization skill is on board too, for when you want a list ranked. In a week, that is one report you did not write and a spec whenever an idea needs one. Paired with a planner, it is the product team.

What do you need to set it up?

No connectors. A folder with your notes, docs and ideas.

  1. Download Biilda and open it.
  2. Open Templates and find Product Manager.
  3. Add it in one click.
  4. Grant the folder with your computer's own folder picker.
  5. Review what was installed, then switch on the employee and the tasks. They start off.

Downloading is free and carries no subscription. You buy credits from $20 and pay for what each task uses (pricing).

What can you change?

The specs follow the Product spec writing skill, so edit that first if you have a house template. The Status reporting skill can gain a section your stakeholders always ask for. Timing and tier are the rest: Thursday for the report if your update meeting is earlier, and Draft a spec on Balanced for small ideas.

What does it not do?

It reports and drafts. It never marks work done, changes your backlog or contacts stakeholders. With no connector to a project tracker, the status report is only as complete as the files in the folder. A draft spec needs your review, especially its open questions. Scheduled tasks run only while Biilda is running.
