Most owners export numbers every week and rarely have time to study them. This AI spreadsheet analysis template installs the Analyst, one employee that reads your metrics files and exports, checks the data, and writes up the findings with a clear so-what each Monday morning.
With Biilda, a free Windows and macOS desktop app, you describe the job in chat and it builds the AI employees (an AI agent with a job), skills and scheduled tasks to do it.
What this template does
Adds the Analyst on its own: point it at your metrics files and exports and it sanity-checks the data, looks at cohorts, trends, and margins, and writes the findings up with a clear "so what" — never just a wall of numbers.
Every Monday at 08:30 it produces a standing weekly business review. It works from your own files and general knowledge only — no connectors, no live dashboards.
How does AI analyze a spreadsheet and write a weekly review?
On Mondays at 8:30 the Weekly business review task runs. Using the Analysis method skill, the Analyst first sanity-checks the numbers in your granted folder, then looks at cohorts, trends, margins and unit economics, and looks past surface-level correlations. The write-up covers what moved, why it probably moved, and what to watch in the week ahead.
The skill is about the so-what, not the figures. A review that only lists numbers repeats what the spreadsheet already shows; this one is meant to say what changed and what it means. The Analyst has one task, the weekly review, and you can press Run now on it for a fresh look at whatever is in the folder. The habit is simple: save this week's export to the folder before Monday.
What do you need to set it up?
No connectors. A folder with your spreadsheets and exports.
- Download Biilda and open it.
- Open Templates and find Analyst.
- Add it in one click.
- Grant the folder with your exports using your computer's own folder picker.
- Review what was installed, then switch on the employee and its task. They start off.
Biilda is free to download, with no subscription. Credits start at $20, you pay for what each run uses, and the weekly review runs on Balanced (pricing).
What can you change?
Tell the Analysis method skill which metrics you care about, such as gross margin or repeat purchase rate, and the review keeps returning to them. The day can follow your close: move the review off Monday at 8:30 when your numbers settle on another day. For a monthly deep dive, put it on Best. Keep each business or project in its own folder.
What does it not do?
It works only with what you have exported, so numbers outside the folder are invisible to it. There is no link to accounting software, dashboards or databases, and no live data or benchmarks. It flags what looks off in your source data but does not correct it. Scheduled tasks run only while Biilda is running. The Analyst also appears in the strategy and research team.
